I plan to keep this blog semi-anonymous primarily so I can keep it public and let myself share as openly as possible – but without this blog popping up if you google my name (which thankfully some CEO in Canada has easily taken care of, good luck easily finding a trace of me that isn’t my boring LinkedIn profile)
My URL is a little tongue in cheek but if anyone asks, it’s merely just a play on the word “megalomania” obviously, duh (I genuinely just thought it was funny because I am quite literally the textbook OPPOSITE of a megalomaniac considering I’ve spent entire life hating myself, wondering what was so wrong with me, & trying to fix myself to be “perfect”)
megalomania: a delusional mental illness that is marked by feelings of personal omnipotence and grandeur (Merriam-Webster)
But yes, I plan to be unfiltered about my journey and experiences (which I also feel the need to clarify, I mean unfiltered in the sense that I can just ramble and open up about all of my thoughts and feelings and use cuss words without feeling like I’m going to hell – I don’t do anything BAD but stuff always gets taken out of context and misinterpreted – ESPECIALLY my very dry sense of humor/sarcasm)
I will never get over the angry/concerned phone call I got from my parents because my family thought I was doing meth after I mentioned one of my (doctor-prescribed – the only medications I have ever or will ever take!) ADHD medications, which contains methylphenidate (so I lovingly joked about it being meth, because that’s literally the name of it…). We joke about it now but for WEEKS I felt so much stress/shame/anxiety that my entire family thought I was some drug-abuser – but more so that rather than reaching out to ME directly to ask or express concern, they started a rumor that rocked the family and resulted in me getting chewed out by my parents over the phone 1,000 miles away all because of a (misinterpreted) dumb joke 🤩
