seizures back in action šŸ«Ø

hi friends & family, I had a very eventful Monday!

so this morning I woke up face down in the shower w/ the bathroom flooding because I had another seizure, hooray!

first and foremost, yes, I am okay! I am back home in bed with Emmy as I am typing this. but I did spend the entirety of the work day in the ER feeling like shit which was super totally fun

I have absolutely 0 memory of waking up, getting out of bed, going to the bathroom, or starting my shower (I have no memory of the lead ups to ANY of my seizures, which is what partially tipped me off that I probably DIDN’T sleep walk into the bathroom, get undressed, and start taking a shower – especially considering I’ve never sleepwalked before)

like I said, I woke up laying facedown on the shower floor with the hot water falling on me (so clearly I couldn’t have been out that long if the water was still hot…) but the way my body fell, it blocked the drain and I accidentally flooded the bathroom oops (I cleaned it up, dad, lol)

my memory after waking up is a little spotty, I vaguely remember shampooing my hair before standing up and actually getting out of the shower (I have 0 clue if I used conditioner, I sure hope I did but that’s a minor problem rn). I dried off, got dressed, and got back in bed with Emmy & honestly didn’t really think anything of it until I woke up a couple of hours later with a massive headache and thought to myself ā€œhm, I don’t think that was normal but I can’t remember shit, I think I had a seizureā€ so I contacted my neurologist’s office and they directed me to go to the ER ASAP

my mom left work to take me so I wouldn’t be alone (or have to Uber) which was very nice

again, my memory of today is very spotty but I remember waiting in the ER lobby which was very busy and it took forever. I was so uncomfortable I ended up just laying flat on the nasty ER floor just so I could rest my head (why are hospital waiting room chairs so damn UNCOMFORTABLE, people are already miserable, a soft spot to lay my head would have been ideal, but the linoleum floor made do)

eventually they brought me back to a room and they had to put bumpers on my bed because I was a fall risk lol. I couldn’t even go to the bathroom by myself, I had to be escorted by nurses even though I was fine on my feet (I was mainly just exhausted & my head hurt)

don’t I look thrilled? I’d rather be playing bumper cars than bumper hospital beds
this is the first selfie I’ve taken in over a month lol – proof I am alive though

since all of my labs & CT scans were fine, they gave me some tylenol, adjusted my seizure medicine, and sent me on my way (only took 6+ hours)

I have a follow up appointment with my neurologist in 2 weeks so until then, I will be sleeping for the foreseeable future. after my last few seizures I was exhausted (and a little disoriented) for days/weeks on end.

I really thought I was done with the seizures, I thought/hoped they were stress-induced and since being home that would have changed but I guess not lol

honestly the thing that sucks the most about this is that I’m not longer allowed to drive for the next 3 months (thankfully the law in Texas is only 3 months, New Hampshire was 6 months and some states it’s 12+ months) and if you know me, you know I need my independence and freedom. driving (and singing my heart out) calms me down and it’s something I’ve done quite a few times since moving home. 10pm, flying down PGBT, & screaming broadway showstoppers at the top of my lungs is so therapeutic

anyways, yes, I’m fine, I’m home, just very exhausted and out of it. just gotta take it one day at a time 😌
